I have the 42SS with white sports and traditional bands.
When I got it there wasn't a wow moment - well built - interesting - added clear convenience - wasn't certain I would re-buy if I could go back in time but didn't regret the decision to buy it.
I liked it but I was reasonably sure that I was the only person I know who would buy one - and I was ok with that.
Two weeks in and I am already completely satisfied with the purchase and have not yet had a wow moment.
First thing - I was working out last week and got pinged via email that a deal I was working on was going south - without the watch it would have been at least an hour until I got that information - I was able to think on it, come up with a strategy, and solve a very timely problem that could very easily have gone south otherwise. So within a week the watch paid for itself 30x over.
Second - I just checked and I have lost 12 pounds since I got the watch. Very happy about that. I was active before but in planned segments - having the hectoring presence of something constantly in my head has made more overall much more aware of health - which has greatly effected my decision making beyond diet and daily work out. I am aware of being active all day now. Before I checked work out off the list in the AM and it was out of my head.
These are very specific and idiosyncratic benefits that probably don't have mass application. And the health thing could fade once my broken brain finds something else to obsess about. Those qualifications aside the watch has made subtle and extremely positive changes thus far.
