I am using a Mac Pro 5.1 2009 Sierra built in wifi have two incoming connections one is used for streaming the other is used for general internet both are connected but if I want to change from one to the other I have to go through sys pref
in el capitan I just selected one or the other no need for password

¡Hola!

Try this :

- turn the Macbook OFF
- reset the NVRAM
- go to System preferences / Startup Disk, select you main partition as startup disk (this was reseted by the nvram reset)
- turn the Macbook's wifi OFF
- go to System Preferences / Network / Wifi / Advanced, delete the two networks from the network list
- go to Applications / Utilities / Keychains, type in "airport" in the search field, make sure that no entry exists for the two deleted networks. If you find some, delete them
- turn the wifi ON, select the first network, enter its password
- now select network two, enter its password

It may not be quite that complicated. It sounds like a saved password issue.

Go into System Preferences > Network > Advanced... Is Remember networks this computer has joined selected? If not, it should be.
