Type of burst mode on iPhone 4S

I was trying to see how burst mode works on 5S and I did a similar thing on my 4S, it turns out that when u hold down the button(possible with volume also) it will not take 20 photos in 2 seconds but will take as many u want for the number of seconds u hold.. Like I held down my button for 5 seconds and it took 10 pictures ...
I don't know if this was a previous feature or it's a bug, or a new feature ... Has any one else noticed this?

I think that changed with iOS 7.

Not really burst mode. Burst mode on the 5s lets you pick one and delete the rest. But for an iphone 5 or earlier. It just takes many picture when you hold down the volume button. Then you manually have to delete the rest.

No, it was not. This is indeed new to iOS 7.
