Typed Mac password to App wanting Apple password - did it got leaked now?

Please help!

I don't know how these things work. I wanted to log into iMessages, but accidentally entered Mac password. Could it be security risk in any way for me? Like Mac password got lost or someone outside got hold of it and could use it against me?
