Typewriter Generator is blurry

I am trying to create some text with the typewriter generator in Final Cut Express. When I create the text in the viewer it appears crisp and professional. When I drag it into the timeline, the canvas reveals that it is blurry and un-usable. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Did you render your timeline after you dropped it in? What are your timeline settings?

Try exporting it and see if it's blurry then. If it's not then you don't really have an issue, it's just a matter of rendering the video.

Things that can have an effect on the quality of text:
- sequence setting. DV - bless it - is the worst.
- text colour. Red is bad
- text font. Fine is bad, chunky is good.
- playback settings (see this article by Ken Stone)
