When I received my AW3 several weeks ago on release date, it wasn't delivered to my house until almost 5 pm. If that wasn't bad enough, the same UPS truck and driver delivered another package to me that morning. I asked the driver why he couldn't give me both packages at the same time, and he said they have to deliver the overnight and before 10 am delivery packages first, and can't take the extra time to scrounge through the truck for other "non-priority" packages.

I noticed my iPhone X shipping confirmation mentions delivery by the end of the day. I called UPS and asked if I could pay extra to get it delivered earlier in the day, but they said they don't offer that option.

Anyone recall on previous release days if UPS made the phones a priority for delivery in the morning?

Nope it's not a priority, also.... You can wait. It's just a phone.

Not a priority. If anything, it might come later than your usual UPS delivery time because they have all these extra packages to deliver. That's pretty much been the case for me on every release.

Sign up for UPS My choice and it will tell you the delivery time window for your delivery.

Depends on your area, how many packages the driver has to deliver, when the truck leaves the warehouse, so many other different things

It'll get there when it gets there and there's no way of knowing when that'll be

Usually my iPhones come in the afternoon or early evening, but it varies depending on the area.

Seriously? If you want or early you should get it shipped to a business address. Most residential deliveries happen later in the day. My ups guy gets to my house at 4-5 every time. FedEx is 11:30-1. Just depends on the route and they won’t be changing that just because you want your phone early.

Thanks everyone. And BTW, I have no qualms about waiting if I have no other choice. I was just curious if UPS makes the phone deliveries a morning priority or not.

The way UPS works in most areas is 8:00-10:00 are residential deliveries, 10:00-2:00 are businesses, then 2:00+ is residential again. Drivers usually always have same(ish) route. So if you got a package at 6:00, 80% of the time or more your packages will come around 6:00 (unless they’re shipped with a specific time window).

My neighbor worked for UPS years ago and gave me the rundown on how they work. At least in our area.
