anyone know how i can type japanese in my mac? I am learning hiragana and i would like to do homework and learn how to type to email japanese friends on my computer but i have no idea how i can begin to type the characters, though i'm pretty sure it can be done.

Thanks

In the International Preference Pane, there are Keyboard Options. Click on the Japaneese Flag's little box, suddenly, your country's flag will appear on the menu bar. By clicking on that flag, JP should be a keyboard choice. At that point you may begin to type in JP if you can figureout what each Latin Character is mapped to in Japaneese.
