a profane existence
I have about a handful of Dollar coins and slightly more than a handful of half-dollar coins (see pics)

Should I still keep them or bank them into my bank account? If I decide to bank their value I will keep one or two.

Any thoughts?

are they all the 1976 year? those are special limited edition from just that year because it was the bicentennial.

keep those. if you have any others, put em in the bank because they still make them and they are still in circulation.

Keep them if you like or find coins interesting. I love most anything with federal images, from savings bonds to coinage or even old IRS forms.

Those coins in that condition are somewhat common (and beautiful), but do check out ebay for your coins, keep one or two if you like coins, if not deposit them and earn some interest.

Edit: I have no dealer knowledge, please check them out online or with a print guide before selling them or depositing them at your bank, there are a few special cases of these coins.

When you say "bank" you mean depsit them into your account and earn interest on them?

12 x .50 = $6.00 at best lets say 5% interest on your savings account. Thats $6.30 ... honestly I would rather have the coins.

The Dollar coins:
5 1971
1 '72
1 '74
1 '77
2 '78
4 1776-1976 ones w/liberty bell image, bicentennial ones I think

The Half-dollars:
36 total including 5 bicentennial coins

Nothing of major collecting power afaik.

Probably just cash them and keep one or two for keepsakes.

Personally, I think they're awesome. Go ahead and keep them.

That being said, we have an entire bag of these. They're not too rare.
