ok is the U.S. the only place with video Ipods? the reason i ask when i go on the itunes home page and at the bottomto go to other countries, none of them have tv shows or movies. does anyone know why this is? or it that we in the U.S. can't access the info.

ok but they only get american tv and movies? why can't we get the stuff they have too?

Royalties, Copyrights, and greed would be my guess. Why do they stager movie premiers/releases, and have region coded dvds? The answer is profitability.

Not by Apple but by the Copyright holders.

Well, there will be some delay in preparing the content for a certain market (for DVDs, menu language, perhaps additional audio and subtitle tracks, other things possibly related to local laws.) However, this should only take a few weeks at most, and has pretty much nothing to do with the iTunes Store.

Quite simply, because the movie companies don't want to sell movies to/from other countries.

There are other ways of getting videos onto an iPod.

yeah u can get anything u want on your iPod. but what if i wanted a movie from japan, or a tv show from the uk. we are talking fun factor here. just to see what other in other countries have as thier #1 downloaded show on iTunes. So once again in other countries they just dont have tv shows and movies for tunes?

Listen to the following....

1. You CAN purchase Video iPod's from many countries outside the USA, including the UK.

2. Apple has not yet announced any agreements they have made with Media companies outside the USA, so NO content is available on iTunes to use on your iPod, other than Music and Music Videos.

3. Other countries outside of the USA may well have media including TV Shows and Movies that they could in theory sell through iTunes. It is just that this has not yet been made possible by Apple who have to set up agreements/contracts with those companies.

4. And, chances are, once these agreements are in place, and other counties do offer movies and tv shows, you will only be allowed to purchase them if you are in that country. That is, someone in the US would not be allowed to buy a show from the UK.

While the iTunes Music Store does not offer TV shows in other countries than the US, there can be video podcasts available in these countries.
