In my vain hope that a new iPod will be released by October, im thinking about headphones. I have looked around and the Ultimate Ears Fi 3 headphones are at the upper limit of my budget, however, i have heard very good things about the Shure E2c's which (in England at least) are half the price.

Are the Ultimate ears worth the extra money? If anyone has these headphones and could give a quick review that would be great.

I have both pairs, actually, and I prefer the ultimate ears. I find the shures muckier in the low end and not as comfortable to wear. I think the interchangeable cables on the UE (meaning you can get a shorter cable, or a new one altogether if you break one) is a big feature.

That said, I actually got a set of bose IEs basically on a dare and I actually like them better than either the UE or Shure. Bose is supposed to suck, but they really did a good job with these and I really like them.
