I replaced the HD in my new emac. All went well until I put the case back on. I ripped the power cable to the button. Right where it connects. Can this be hard wired? Or should I just take it in to be fixed?

I took apart a 700MHz eMac two or three times and luckily I never broke the power button wire.

If your eMac is anything like the one I used to have, maybe you could reconnect the wire that came loose. Good luck and hopefully you'll get to repair it. The risk you run in taking it in is they blacklist your eMac with a voided warranty.

ok, off to the shop I go. It looks like its a pretty easy fix. A little tape backed connector then the plug and go back in.

I just got my emac back and was told by the tech that he hooked me up and it was all covered. I flipped him $20 and a thanks. Apple Rocks!!!
