So recently i sent my powerbook g4 17" off to have a new hd put in, cost me about $200 for parts and labour. Less than a month later, here i am with another failing hard drive, unsure of whether or not it will be replaced by the repair service i chose. Hopefully i will hear back soon and find out they will replace it and install it for free.
however if that is not the case then i'm having a hard time justifying another $200 bill when i bought the computer used from a friend for $500 a year or so ago.
Its from 2005 so i wasn't too bothered about replacing the hd, but it got me thinking how long can i expect this to last me? I don't do much, probably the most tasking thing i do is a little photoshop every once in awhile. The only thing it doesn't do is play hd video, and it stutters on some high quality content on youtube.
I guess what i'm asking is should i expect more hardware problems? or should i try and sell it after i get it up and running again so i could upgrade to something that won't break soon.
