Ugh. Problem Deleting Subscribed Cal

I am well educated when it comes to Apple products. But this has me frustrated. I have googled and tried many solutions. Nothing is working.

I have 10 or so subscribed ical calendars. THey have been deleted from my macbooks ical, my mobileme online cal, but they will not get off my iphone cal. I have a iphone 4. I have turned off syncing in the settings and then manually synced my macbook ical. I have turned off the setting in mobileme online ical to save events to this computer. Its turned off. I did that and then turned the iphone cal sync back on. the subscribed threads are still there. do i need to do a complete restore?? that would be ridiculous?

yes. they are not listed there. i saw that solution when googling. but the subscribed cal events are not listed in the settings.
