I popped into pcworld today to find a cable.

they do not stock any firewire anymore.

So we had look around and my fiancee spotted the 12" macbook rose gold.

She now wnats one.

I asked her why.....

her response?

"its rose gold"

lord give me strength!

It was nice with 256GB SSD and 8GB ram much more than she needs.
her main PC is ipad air 2 with keyboard dock.

Believe it or not, this is how many lay consumers make their purchasing decisions. Color is often the deciding factor instead of spec.

I found a macbook air (2009) on ebay for her to play with.

It got few dings and dents, plus has russian keyboard, with uk rubber overlay.

128GB so fine for her as she has less than 16gb of music and photos combined.

She happy with photos I sent her from the listing.
She struggles with photo download on windows 10.
At least with the air she will have photos app which is auto so all good.

I just got teach her time machine as she will mess it up if her history with windows machines is anything to go by.

It has a UK overlay.

my fiancee has very little funds so this seemed a cheap way to get her a super slim air.

It is worth it for my fiancee, with overlay she has a uk keyboard.

2009 macbook air for £200 is reasonable cost.
was probably cheaper due to russian keyboard.

and also 8 months ago a new battery fitted.

That's a really really old device though. I had one, with the curved back cover rather than the edgy ones in the newer models.

Yes it is old, an a1304 model.
it will run el capitan which is fine for its use.

All it has to do is run itunes and iphoto.

Windows 10 laptop she has is not working well enough with her phone.
She liked my 2007 macbook pro with el cap so this macbook air will do what she needs.

Her main computer is an ipad air 2.
The macbook air is just for backup of music and photos as she only has 16GB iphone and has 400 photos of our cat on it!

she knows it not going to be fast or anything but as long as does the job it will be fine.

Plus she really wants an apple (as she loves her ipad and iphone) so this is good start point for her.

I just cannot afford it.

I love her and she knows it.
She is not materialistic and we talked about it before I bought it.

We are a poor house and almost everything is 2nd hand.
