hey guys
I'm trying to replace the Icon of an app i like and i did but iphone (iphone 4 32bg 4.0.1) keeps adding a black background and a gloss to my new icon!

I've edited 'info.plist' on user\application\*app folder
AND
var\mobile\applications\*app folder

and added <UIPrerenderedIcon> = true

alas, no change upon respringing!

any ideas? it's doing me head in!

cheers

not saying this is definitely the answer but when working with icon stuff a lot of times I've noticed it doesn't reset until you reboot, and a respring can be insufficient.

I always have to respring and reboot before the shine will show up/disappear. Doing either by itself seems to be insufficient. Certainly, it will eventually show up.
