UJ845 Media problems

Sorry, if this is in the wrong forum, but I am having issues with Media compatibility in my PB. I replaced the dead SuperDrive with a UJ845 drive. It writes to DVD's GREAT, but WON'T write to CD's. Have tried Maxell,Imation, and TDK disc but I get a media error everytime. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
