I was in the Liverpool ONE store yesterday morning and they seemed to be selling iPhone 4s without reservations. Have you made sure you can't go straight in and buy one?

I may have...

I ordered two, a 16gb and a 32gb. I'll be getting whatever comes in first so you can have the other one if you wish. If you're interested I'll let you know when the time comes. I've been on the list for about 2 1/2 weeks now.

Are you being serious? I was speaking to the manager in there on Tuesday because of the long waiting times. He told me not to worry as they definitely aren't selling with a reservation. He also said it could take anything up to 3 weeks.

I'm not sure because I got my iPhone at launch and I was just in to get another Airport Express, but I was looking at iMacs and I heard a conversation between a customer and an employee that went approximately as follows:

Customer: Do you have any iPhone 4s?
Employee: Only in black. 16 or 32?
Customer: 32
Employee: contract or sim free?
Customer: Vodafone contract
Employee: Yes we do, take a seat - I need to get some details from you...

That was when I left, but the guy seemed to walk straight in and ask the employee. I didn't hear him ask about a reservation, but then I didn't try and get one myself so I can't be sure if they were available. He might have already shown someone else his reservation and then been passed on or something. Still, it's worth trying if you are desperate to get one.

How can they do that knowing that there are thousands of people on the waiting list? Blood boils
