UK - Argos £15 x 2 iTunes giftcard for £20

Newbie question:
Is there a difference between the iTunes store and the App Store? Can those cards from argos be used for both music and apps?

I don't have an iPhone yet (hopefully that'll change next Thursday!) so it sounds like a good plan to get a couple of these cards, but I want to make sure I can spend them on apps.

Yes that's right you can use iTunes cards for either music, movies or apps or wahtever else they sell.
 
Yes, don't walk all the way there in your lunch hour, like I just did, without the stupid bit of paper. Who prints out stuff on bits of paper these days anyway?

I just bought £100 itunes cards and I just realize I won't be able to spend ALL £100 on apps? people give me ideas lol...
 
Thanks for the tip. Got 8 cards today no problem. Will help with birthdays and Xmas and gonna use 2 myself.
 
Tempted to pick a few of these up too!! Can you use these even if you have setup the app store with your credit card details? When I press buy now the only option is to enter password... Not used these cards before so how do I assign them to my account?
 
They did this last year for fathers day. I bought £90 worth of giftcards for £60. Saved a fortune on stuff

Look for the Redeem button at the bottom of the iTunes/App Store page. Do this before you buy to add the giftcard funds to your account.
 
My local Argos didn't have a clue about this. Reckoned you needed a print out of the webpage for every single card purchased. They ended up photocopying the one print out I brought with me six times, before carefully cutting them down to coupon size to put in the till! I was stood there for half an hour while this farce played out before me. What a carry-on!
