Does anyone have any experience with any of these? Are they hard to claim for iPhones. How do they compare to the more expensive AppleCare...

Thanks

I once used natwest silver reward account phone insurance for a water damage iPhone 6s Plus. Was very easy to claim. Rang the insurance company, they took th details and within 30 minutes the claim was accepted. I paid the excess of £75 (is now £100) and they sent the phone the next day via DPD. It’s one of the things included in the bank account and costs nothing unless you claim. I can claim twice in a 12 month period.

Mine is covered by my Halifax account but I pay £12 a month for it and it includes AA car cover, home emergency, etc. too.

Excess is £50 for damage and £100 for loss or stolen. Don't know about any £1000 limit.

NatWest. Claimed on them a few times on my iPhone 6 with no hassle whatsoever and phone was with me the next day with DPD.

Mine is covered via my home contents insurance. My wife has had one phone replaced and it was easy. Certainly cheaper than AppleCare. It was a £10 addition I think?

Phones are actually normally covered by home insurance anyway simply as an item up to a certain value that leaves the home (normally 2500-5000 pounds covered for items that leave the house such as cameras, watches etc). However, the insurers tend to bump up your annual premium if you ever claim on it. This is why many look for a separate policy.

I think my insurance covers up to £10k for items that are stolen or damaged outside of the home. I usually make sure the wording ‘iphones’ is on the policy though as for some reason in the past they have been exclusive to a normal mobile phone?? I haven’t noticed a significant jump in my premium since my wife claimed a few years ago but then we never stay with the same insurer year after year and negotiate the price.

I meant some other (non-Halifax) packaged accounts have a £1000 limit on the phone insurance
