Depends Greatly On The Weather
I just got a call from "Ricky" (Some Indian Telemarketer) who offered me some broadband package. The thing is he called me on my UK mobile and I have to pay roaming charges which pisses me off. So he said the provider is called insanity or something like that. I asked him for the number but he hung up on me. So I searched for the provider but cannot find it. Does an one know what it may be called and do you have a website.

Thanks Alot

There are two ways they could have got your number.

They bought it off a list company or they used a random number generator.

If it's the first one, you'll just waste more cash since it's probably a one use list and you'd have to contact the listowners in order to get your name removed.

The easier option is to go to the Telephone Preference Service and register your number to avoid getting the calls in the first place. Companies have to clean their list against this service before selling the numbers.

If it's the second, you'll just have to hope it doesn't come again. Random numbers don't have to be checked against the TPS list

Are you a pro at this? Thanks alot I will check that TPS stuff out.

Well I contacted the TPS and it turns out I am already on their list, so I have no idea how they got my number, I highly doubt they used a random number generator.

Any way does any one know any UK Broadband provider called insanity?

Thanks

I wouldn't be surprised by the random number thing. Many call centres who specialise in cold calling offer it as a service.

From this article
Efforts like the Telephone Preference Service, aimed at putting an end to nuisance calls, have been unsuccessful because most large call centres use random diallers that they claim are unable to exclude specific numbers.

And no, never heard of an ISP called insanity. They're not listed on adslguide.org.uk
