Quick question - do the 3 Stores in the UK hand out micro SIM cards to existing customers to replace their regular SIM cards?

I searched online and the only information I could find related to stores in Australia, so sorry if this has been asked before.

To be honest, if you just went into the shop and asked them to cut it down for you I would think they would do it there and then free of charge if they have a cutter there :)

Three do do it, I had their £10 a month SIM and bought an iPhone 4, they swapped the SIM there and it was connected by the time I got home.

Why don't you just call and ask? Or even go to a shop and ask rather than making a new thread.

anyone know if they will do it with 'normal' PAYG sims to micro sim without having to switch to a new tariff?

Went to the 3 Store in Cambridge today and they didn't give me a new SIM, they just put my old SIM into a special cutting machine (looked like a stapler) and then in a second or two it was a micro SIM.

They probably won't cut it for you because that's a little in the gray area zone. Some carriers do it for free, mine charged me $35 but thankfully their debit machine was malfunctioning so it refunded me by accident. ;)

you could just cut it down yourself, all you need is the right dimensions, a marker and a file. i did it on mine and i've had no problems since, if it does go wrong just ring £ and ask for a replacement SIM as you lost yours/ stopped/working/dog swallowed it
