UK - can I have a different cell provider from my phone

I'm thinking of getting the cellular version of the 7 when it come out, I'm currently with EE, can I get a watch on a plan with O2?

It has to link with your phone contract as the watch contract is treated as an 'add-on' to your mobile contract - watch contracts are not completely independent like data contracts for iPads etc

Maybe with the S10 or S20, the Watch will become completely independent from the phone and you will be able to choose the watch data plan independent from your phone. But at this time, we still don't have the tech to make the watch completely independent from the phone.
