I'm not getting an E logo, i'm just getting a blue square when browsing the internet (when not connected to wifi), however, i know i'm connected to edge as i'm getting 90KB/s speed, which is way faster then GPRS.

Anyone else notice this?.

I have saw the blue square just once. I presumed it was when EDGE coverage dropped and reverted to GPRS.

The manual says that the blue square is GPRS. It has an 'E' in the square when you're connected to EDGE.

Turns out, there's no EDGE where I live.

I have EDGE signal in my house.. Well useful considering I have wireless haha. Oh well, if I have a powercut at least I can have internets!

I have had 100% Edge connectivity in central Manchester. Praise the lord! lol

The blue square with no E in it must be a new feature of 1.1.2, because I never saw it before doing this update, and now I see it from time to time when I'm in a spot of bad reception.

OK, this is my first post so here goes...
I am a proud owner of a shiny new iPhone, locked into 18 months of joy with o2  I can connect to the internet via wifi in my house, but for some reason cannot connect via GPRS or EDGE??? No blue squares for me??? Am I missing something here??? Thanks in advance

No EDGE on my iPhone in Scotland :(

Also can't seem to configure Visual Voicemail. Hopefully these are just network teething problems. Travelling to Glasgow today, maybe I'll get EDGE there :)

It's a new icon in the 1.1.2 software. Only change I can find other than french, german and italian translations.

The *still* can't spell 'colour'. Damned americans.

Coverage in Lincoln is excellent! They upgraded the edge network last weekend. I can edge at home although I have Wifi here.

Tested Edge out this morning - it wasn't as slow as I was expecing.:)

Also got great cloud coverae in Lincoln too!

I had the same problem, go to Settings --> General --> Reset --> Reset Network Settings.

I went shopping and got the E logo, I went on the web and didn't really notice a difference when I was waiting at a level crossing with a blank square.
