In EU countries, with the O2 iPhone, and as it's £6 per Mb, how costly will it be to use the Google Maps application abroad?

Thanks

If it's £6/Mb ... the amount you are charged would depend entirely on the amount of mapping data you download, wouldn't it?

What you are asking is humanly impossible to determine.

I could say, 'your looking at a bill of '£300+' :p

Well I don't know how large mapping data is, but it's only roads so I imagine it's quite small. Is it not possible to download them and save it to the phone? That'd be the solution.

Probably enough to make you want to kill O2's bosses, more than you probably do now :)

But in all seriousness, probably quite a bit. I'm going to the south of France for 2 weeks and am contemplating getting the £50 for 50mb bolt-on. I've never said 'probably' so much.

About that bolt on, is there a way of knowing when you hit the 50meg limit or how far you are into it? Thanks

Well, obviously, if you only load road data and not satellite images it would cost a lot less.

They might send you text i suppose... apart from that, you will have to go to their website to check it... which of course uses up data!
