Has anyone gone into an O2 store today to run through the credit checks and get this unique code for the 11th ?

I'm pretty sure they were supposed to open the doors to this process for 1st July.

nothing was ever confirmed
also, all they can do really is a credit check, which takes seconds

I think this was always a rumor. You've been able to do the credit check for weeks. I did mine some time ago, its just not the "pick a plan and get given a code" that was rumored.
Anyway, I went into my store today just to ask if they were expecting to display the iPhone 3G soon (as they've removed all the iPhones and now just have loads of docks with nothing in them on tables), and they didn't mention anything about new signup stuff and I'm sure they would have. (incidentally, they said there not getting ay 3G iPhone display models, soonest you can see them will be the 11th)

just got back from o2 shop.

a) they are going to be doing pre checks for iphone but no confrmed date as to when they can start these.

b) no stock confrimation yet (only 8GB rumours)
