Looking to get a new MBP, using my uni HE store.

The applecare says £60, do i need to buy this to get 3 years, or is this £60 for something else, what actually do you get free from HE store with regards to warranty?

With a Higher Education purchase you automatically get a 3 year warranty. You do not, however, get AppleCare. The difference is that AppleCare comes with a 3 year telephone support included, whereas the HE warranty just comes with 90 days. If you feel that you will require telephone support (which from experience has been excellent), spend the £60. If not, don't.

nope, not once used telephone support in 2 years.

also does quidco work with HE store?

Sorry, I stand corrected. I have just checked several of my computers, and all have come with 1 year telephone support rather than 90 days from the HE store.

Also, I believe Quidco will work on the HE Store, although I've never tried it myself.

i think *read this on the US store* that applecare also covers you for shipping if returning (they send you a pre paid shipping box)

don't know if this applies in UK. hope it does.
