Lightwave RF have launched Homekit electrical sockets in the UK.

A 2 gang socket is £59.99 which is OK, but you have to buy a hub for £125.00.
The hub seems very expensive. I want to be able to turn on / off 3 sets of AV equipment in three separate parts of the house. It takes 4 routers to cover the house, and I can't see any info as to whether the wifi network will be used or if the sockets communicate directly with the hub.
Hue lights work really well with the hub in just one location, but I don't know if the lights in remote parts of the house are communicating via other lights in the chain, which they can do I think, or if they use the wifi network (I don't think they do). However, they react instantly regardless of distance from the Hue hub.
I wonder how well the Lighwave RF hub will work with far away sockets which still have 100 percent wifi.
Lightwave RF have a a few other products, all of which use this new hub.
I wonder why they even need a hub when the Elgato Eve doesn't.
Anybody got any opinions on a potentially expensive system.
