I've just got my iPhone 4(woo!) I porter my number from O2 with my PAC. I've been waiting for a signal fir an hour. I believe Vodafone don't do temp numbers, does this mean I'm not going to get a signal until the porting is complete and it could take a few days? Or should it give me a signal before my number has porter?

Any help would be much appreciated :)

I'm the same.......Used PAC Code from o2 to go over to Voda.. I think it may take up to 4 days to transfer, until that time you will see 'no service'.

Interestingly, I wonder what would happen if I now put an o2 micro sim into the phone while I'm waiting to port number......

Been Told that mine ports over on the 28th.

No temporary numbers so will just have to wait. went to

http://help.vodafone.co.uk/system/web/custom/iphone4.jsp

got the following response

"Thank you for sending your new micro SIM details.

Your number is due for activation on the 28th June, please fill up the on line form with the details after the activation in order for us to be able to register your SIM card."

no phone till 28th :(

28th for me also.....must take 4 days to port. You can still use wifi!

Thanks for the replies, 4 days is a long time!

Any idea if I can add insurance over the phone?

i'm in the same boat - bit annoying. walking around with 2 iphones now!
the porting usually takes 2 working days - so is 4 because of the weekend.
