I have had an iPhone on O2 since it came out last year and, having moved from Voodoofone I found the coverage really poor.

What's the current thinking about other carriers getting access in the coming months? Have heard rumours about Orange, but would love it if it was available on Vodafone.

Bump - Are there *really* no rumours about iPhone on other carriers in the UK

there was rumour about Orange having it sometime in 2009 but truth be told I don't think any of the other carriers want it.

Vodafone certainly think that they can position the new BB to at least compete profitably with iP and T-Mobile are tremedously upbeat on Android.

Google is arguably a bigger and better name than Apple, and being TMobile the plans are cheap.

I was really hoping for Vodafone TBH as their coverage is best all round IMHO. Oh well...

From what was said way back the only way Apple can bail on O2 is if the iPhone is a non-seller.

Could buy a French phone and use here?

You can always petition O2 to get a mast up - talk to an O2 manager in store for details on the current masts, and how to try and get something better in your area.
