OK I realise there are threads on the German/French ones but I couldn't find one specific to what I want to ask so here I go.

I've read up that you can buy due to French and German laws unlocked (simfree) iPhones straight out of the box in France and Germany so the user can put whatever sim they want in. I don't know much about the iPhone so forgive me if these Q's seem a little well dumb lol.

1. Is it likely the UK will ever do this at all?

I don't fancy buying a UK one and jailbreaking to be honest. And/or if I did, I wouldn't fancy doing it for it to be lost when Apple upgrade the system on their iPhones if you know what I mean.

2. If I buy a French or German one, can I use a UK sim in it?
3. Can I change prefs so it would be in UK English with the £ sign on the keyboard and all?

I know I can buy the Apple plug here so that wouldn't be a problem.
4. Are they unlocked straight out of the box on those models or would you have to activate it to be that way in France or Germany?

5. Anymore info to share that might be relevant to things mentioned above or in general?
