Hey everyone i just have a quick question about the o2 contract.

Basically can i buy a 3G iPhone and use it on my current iPhone contract? Just take the sim out my EDGE model and put it in the 3G model?

If the answer is yes what about activating etc is all that fine?

I don't want to end up with 2 contracts!

Thanks, Matthew.

I'm not sure if details have been confirmed yet. It will probably be the same as trading up to a 16 GB from an 8 GB ... you activate the phone with itunes but enter your current O2 number. This way you stay with a single contract.

I'd really like to know this too but I guess we'll just have to wait until O2 update their site etc.

I'd like to know asap as I want to be able to unlock and sell my 1st gen iPhone before the word of a 3G one gets around and people stop paying the high prices for the 1st gen ones. :p

TBH I'd hope that you can just buy the phone and off you go, but until O2 say something, or someone tries it, no one knows.

The O2 site says "The New iPhone on O2. Come back tomorrow for more info"

So I suppose we will wait and see.

I am 99% sure that there will be an upgrade path however. It would be silly for there not to be one.
