[UK] John Lewis discounting MBP/immediate delivery

Just cancelled my Apple order of base 15-inch MBP (delivery 10-14 January) and ordered on John Lewis (delivery 29 December). Price was same as educational discount price, i.e. £2,149 compared with £2,349. Also comes with two year warranty.

I had a feeling the prices might start being quietly dropped, many buyers were put off from the price increases.

JLP will be price matching Curry's/ PC World and as mentioned - above average apple tax and dollar to pound since brexit - $1.40 now $1.22

• as stated by OP 2nd year free warrantee
• exceptional customer service and 'No Quibble' returns of 90 days!
yes 2 1/2 months more than standard apple store returns of 14 days (not including extended holiday)

I got my 2015 rMBP from JLP last year for all the above bullet points.

The 15" 455 base unit isn't cheaper though...

Huh? Look at the Apple website - it's the upgraded base model as per the specs in my sig.

If JL price match Currys for that model, that's a great discount! It's at Education discount levels I believe.
