Is this possible?

Using safari on my macbook seems set for a US user - the spellcheck defaults to US spelling rather than UK and the google tab takes you to google.com, rather than .co.uk

Is there an option somewhere to set this to UK? I have had a quick look, but inexperience with macs and my general muppetness has left me stumped so far...

Lets start at the beginning :)
System prefs > International > Edit List and drag British English to the top. Then English as second (US) for the apps without a UK option.

Safari spelling > Start a post or similar > Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar > Select British English in the bottom box.

As far as google search goes it should give you the local sites first but dragging and dropping a bookmark on the bookmark bar for Google UK is a simple fix.
Have fun with your Mac.
