Uk Macbook Pro Insurance

HI,
I am looking for a bit of advice on Insurance,I am 17 and have a macbook pro which I bought myself.I will be starting college in about 2 weeks and I am joining the Merchant Navy so will be going away for 4 months at a time. Now I require Insurance for worldwide and college and it covers me for:

-Theft
-Accidental Damage
-Water Damage

The usual Basically now I had a look at this company : http://www.uklaptopinsurance.co.uk/buy-laptopinsuranceuk/.

They seem okay but is it me or does there page look very unprofessional ? I have googled it and it seem this is the only company to provide more than 30 day worldwide coverage.Can anyone please recommend any companies for Insurance and has anyone used this company?.

If you're going to college and will still have a permanent address at your parents, then it might be worthwhile checking whether you can be covered for it on their household contents insurance for an extra premium.

Alternatively speak to the Merchant Navy to see whether they have any particular deals on offer for members. Since there's some fairly specific issues (like being away for 4 months), it might be that they have some special rates.

I never mentioned I am staying at the halls for the first year also It is a 3 year course.I don't think The merchant Navy would offer anything Like That see It is a sponsor company I am with.I really don't know If a need it on the other hand the laptop is £2,000,I am a bit clueless with this help me please!.

Most policies only offer 30 days world travel. It might be worth speaking to an insurance broker who specialises in marine based insurance.

Another company to look at is laptopguard.co.uk, part JLT insurance. They have a number of speciality insurance services (bikes, photography, etc), however they only offer 30 days as well, but you could call them.
 
The insurance place sounds legit - they're covered by the FSA.

For very specialist insurance, it's not unreasonable for a company to be very small (often 1 or 2 people) with a less-than-great web presence. This web site isn't very pretty, but it's probably the sort that a small company outside the IT industry would have.

Whatever insurance you get, you need to read the conditions. The insurer you've linked to doesn't seem to offer accidential-loss insurance for Laptops (just for mobile phones).

If you're in hall/at uni for the first year, just get a regular student insurance to cover that, and don't worry about the at-sea stuff until you're actually doing it. A travel policy might be the best thing to cover the laptop then.
 
The thing is with the Course Its like 10 week at college of to sea for 4 months back for 16 weeks of to sea for 4 months again so kind of hard to take out an Insurance Policy really.I am only staying in the halls for the first year after the first year I can move out to a Permeant Address just because my age.

Maybe try www.endsleigh.co.uk I know they do some good student laptop insurance! It says it covers you anywhere in the UK too! I would just call them up and tell them what you will be doing/where you will be taking the laptop to check if it will be covered.
 
I phoned Endsleigh and they said they do provide cover for people in the merchant navy. The catch is you need to join the club called 'Nauticals Uk' who charge u over £55 a year and from what I see you get No benefits I would never use this club.This is so hard to try and find bludy Insurance! anyone got any suggestions.
 
Can anyone help I mean I found two companies who said they had a single claim limit so its basically £500 down the drain!.I start college on Monday I know I have left it a bit late and just looking for anyone who has college Insurance That covers You Worldwide.
