Hi there,

I'm a UK resident with a UK based American Express card from MBNA. *Whenever* I use this to buy something from an Apple store, I get a call from them asking me to confirm that it really is a genuine transaction from me, and not something fraudulent. It doesn't seem to matter how much I spend (I've just paid 150UKP for something from the US Apple store, and have previously bought two MBPs in one go from the UK Apple store) just that the transaction is with Apple.

Anyone else see anything similar? Just wondering if it's me they don't like, or Apple. I use the same card all the time, by the way, and never have any other problems with it...

When i bought my iMac, my Citigroup AAdvantage card also had to do the call through.

Perhaps it's just that Apple items are desirable so targets for fraudsters?

Better they check than not though :)
