Can anyone reccomed a free website for unlocking a mobile phone?

Sony Ericsson W550i.

I found a site but they want me to download some software and turn my firewall off - yes, it sounds as dodgy as it can be.

thanks all.

In my experience it normally works out easier to have it done in a shop for £10. might cost money, but it's sorted within 5 minutes. I tried the websites and couldn't find anything to unlock my k750i . took it to shop, much easier.

the most common phones that you can unlock yourself are nokia phones. apparently, SE phones are 'unlockable' without a cable and special software. as the previous poster said, it works out easier to just take it to your local unbranded seller of all things cellular:)

O2 are great in this respect, if you're on a contract with them; their phones have no O2 labels and are completely unlocked. ive recently upgraded from a K700i to a K800i; now i can use the K700 as a spare on any network i desire. its a good system, keep it going O2!
