Just called O2, the iPhone 4 will not be available to preorder for PAYG. However, I enquired a price, and they can't give one, so I asked for the 16GB 3GS, that will remain at £449.

Any bets how much the iPhone 4 handsets will cost?

I think O2 are going to be expensive. :S

if you look on apples website now you will see that iphone 4 16gb is £499

Cheers. I'm now actually wondering if the operators will be selling them at a reduced price?

O2 offered £173 for my iPhone 3G to be recycled, though.

I think the iPhones that will be sold by the carriers PAYG will either be the same unlocked ones Apple are selling, or ever so slightly subsidised and bundled with a SIM. However, it kills the resale value for it to be locked, so I think we're better off going factory unlocked.
