UK: o2 vs Three 3g signal in central london, please help

Hello,

I have been on an o2 simplicity plan since I got my Iphone 4, I am now looking to switch to three as they can give me a better deal. I now have activated nano sims for both three and o2. I am swapping them out of my Iphone 4 (with adapter) and running speed tests with very suprising results. Can anyone please comment, is this normal? I am in central london.
