Have the prices for these applications been increased in the UK? I'm sure they were £55 before, now they are £69 - or order iWork with a Mac for £55 (its $49 for US customers:mad:)

Yeah, I bought both iWork 08 and iLife 08 for £55 when they were released. £55 is a reasonable price. £69 is enough for me to not buy iWork.

the pound against the dollar is not great right now.

79 U.S. dollars = 52.4916944 British pounds

Don't know where you got the $49 dollars from. When I looked it was $79. With V.A.T. it comes to about £60. Who knows what other charges come into play. I don't think they are blatantly ripping anyone off, but I think they would sell a hell of a lot more of they came in under £50. I got Office 2008 for Mac for £17.32 through a scheme at work, so I'm not at all tempted. Same with iLife; under £50 I would buy but at £69 I'm just not tempted. I don't think its a rip off, its just not a keen price point for the extra features. Now when Snow Leopard comes out, if they bundle that with iLife and iWork all together, I'll have to seriously consider that.

If you buy iWork with a Mac it costs £55 rather than £69. However for US customers it's $49.
