Ok, so let's just imagine that the new MBP drops this Tuesday (like I said, just imagine), when would it likely be released in the UK/Europe? How long does it usually take these updates to make it into stores over this side of the pond?

Yeah, I'm a Mac newbie.. :rolleyes:

usually the same day, for an updated model.

As long as the delivery from China takes... :)
 
Release will definitely be worldwide in every Apple Store - online, as well as brick & mortar. Resellers, on the other hand, may need to wait a week or so to get their hands on the new models.

Yeah, plan on getting mine @ PCW (10% dsg staff discount), having to wait till the end of the month for pay day anyway, so do hope Tuesday is the day as that will give it over 2 weeks after release for PCW to have them in stock.

Are you in the UK ? Sorry I don't know what PCW is, but make sure you don't miss out on a percent or two more through Apple's educational discount. For a pricey notebook, even a small saving will buy you many coffees and noms ! :)

Yes, I'm in the UK. PCW is PC World, one of the biggest computer retailers over here.

Unfortunately my days in education ended over 10 years ago so staff discount is the best I'm going to get.

Ah ok PC World. (Honestly, that would be the last name I'd think about.. y'know.. PC.. get it..? hehee ~*)

Yea same here, but if you know someone who's going to school or college you might wanna take advantage of it. But I guess your staff discount will cover a good deal too.
 
Ok, so IF it is announced today they'll just switch from selling the old mbp to the new one halfway through the day?

I've been watching this forum all day from my phone since i'm stuck on a train. No, not an iphone. Or any other smartphone actually. It's just dawned on me how sad this is.

Hey guys,

What do you guys think: How long will it take for people to find any problems with the new hardware? I won't have the money for the laptop (planning on buying high-end 15" or 17" until thursday or friday.. do you think people will know of any issues by then? :confused:
