Just wanted to ask
*
I'm going to the us for a few weeks from the uk. And want to use my phone for music, games and take pics,
Will turning the phone into airplane mode be enough to prevent getting charged for anything ? Including someone trying to call me ?
*
Also, if i want to use a twitter app at the hotel using their wi fi ? Would i get charged ? Do i need to ask hotel to make sure its free ?
*
Thanks

Yeah airplane mode would prevent any cell service. You can turn on wifi only when you're near a hotspot. Wifi in hotels here is strange. Cheap hotel=probably free wifi. Nice expensive hotel=expensive wifi. You can get a free connection though in almost any coffee shop, library, McDonald's, etc...
