UK what is the availability in store?

My Wife ordered one yesterday through the educational discount and it said it was available that afternoon. Took a long trip to the store only to be told that it was only the free Beats headphones that were available straight away and they could give me no timeframe on availability of the Macbook itself.

Pretty frustrating but we went home and expected to get some kind of notification from Apple about pick up but nothing has happened.

Are other people able to pick up theirs?

Have you checked the pickup in store availability option on the Apple store? Looks like default options are available in some stores but higher specs e.g. 13" with 16gb RAM are all August 1st.

Pickup in store availability option was checked and it stated that the order would be available in store on the day but did not give a specific time.

Update: just come of a call from Apple saying that their order service is experiencing problems and is currently down. So our order was processed and we got the email confirmation but the last bit of notifying the store has not finished processing - what a mess!

Dammit. This probably means I will have to wait another week as I cannot get away on work days.

Update: got the machine now - the confirmation came through 2 hours after and I was able to go pick up no problem. Using it to type this message!

Coming from a 2011 MB Pro I am struck by how small it is! starting to think I should have got a 15"!

the 15"'rs havent shown as pick up in store yet on website, I've been wondering what stock situation is.. I'm kind of hoping they might have stock on tuesday or wednesday as I'm on a trip to UK..
