I'm in the UK and use a lot of wifi hotspots and they all work fine except for those in McDonalds and Starbucks. My Macbook sees the connection and joins it ok (gets a valid IP via DHCP) but the prompt to sign in to their wifi never appears. This is whilst I'm using my default automatic network location.

If I then create a new network location, select that location, then stop and start wifi it connects and the sign in prompt comes up and I can access it ok. Sometimes I have to delete the new location and re-create it but I get in eventually.

This problem only happens on my Macbook, no problems with my iPad or iPhone.

Anyone got any ideas cos it is really bugging me?
