Ok, I am currently studying abroad in the UK, from the US.
I downloaded, and have been playing Frets on fire on my laptop. However guitar hero just isnt the same without the guitar. I know I can use a xbox 360 wired guitar to connect to my mac and play the game.

What I am wondering is this: If I buy the guitar hero 2 360 bundle, will I be able to take it back to the US with me and use it on my 360 (US version) even though the game was purchased in the UK (UK version?)

Are there differences between the console regions and what regions of games work in them? or does it really matter? or does it matter for certain games?

I don't have guitar hero for xbox 360, and this would be a pretty easy way to get it and put it to good use, if I can do what I want to with it.

Well, I don't have a 360 here. My plan is to play it with my laptop here, using
OS X 360 Controller Driver
And playing Frets on Fire.

I looked at the website, for guitar hero 2 and they had 2 versions. A Japan version and a US version. They said Asia/No Region Protection and US/No Region Protection. I couldn't find a European one. I would be fine with the US version, but it would be cheaper for me just to buy the version they have in the stores here. My only hesitation is that I would like it to work also when I get back home with my 360.

Yeah you'll be fine with either.

The Euro version is region free too - so if you don't want to order from them you can just go and buy the euro version.

There is a difference between Asia & Japan versions... Asia version are ones released are often in English and region free and dramatically cheaper... japanese versions tend to be regionalized and in Japanese.

Alright thanks for all your help. I'll be buying the game this afternoon. :) Finally frets on fire with a guitar and not a keyboard.

I picked up the game and guitar controller this afternoon. The guitar works amazing with frets on fire i think. I'm a little nervous about the game working when i get back home in 4 months because it says PAL on it in places. I'm still hopeful though. If it doesn't work i'll just sell it online and try to recoup some of the cost. I really only wanted it for the guitar anyways.

Once again, thanks for your help.
