Do any of the G-Sync monitors at least enable the use of ULMB in OS X? I understand that g-sync won't be supported, of course, but it would be nice to not have to reboot just to get a feature that should be only a monitor firmware function. I tried on a PG278Q that I currently own, but no dice at 85/100/120 Hz with a GTX 680 on a 2009 Mac Pro.
Looks like the only other option for 1440p backlight strobing that should just work is the XL2730Z, but that is a Freesync monitor which the r9-280x does not support. The FG2421 should too, but I'd rather not go down that road.
Just trying to see if I can consolidate machines with the least amount of inconvenience. My alternative will be a Dell S2716DG since it has an HDMI input as well as DisplayPort, so I could hook up the Mac Pro to the HDMI port and a cheap gaming box to the DisplayPort port. Thanks in advance.
