I have downloaded Ultimate Bet application and installed it with no problem. Unfortunately, every time I try to start the program, I get the same error.
"We could not establish connection to the server. Please contact our staff by sending an e-mail to support@ultimatebet.com"
While the UB staff has been nice, they don't seem to know Macs or have any clue as to how to solve the problem.
The first response to my e-mail:
The next day I sent another e-mail, their first response this time seemed to indicate that the problem may be on my end. They were asking questions about my Mac (iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running 10.6.1 with 3 gigs ram), my internet speed (fairly fast cable), and my router (airport express wifi). My roommate has no issues connecting to UB using his Window XP running lap top, so I am pretty sure it isn't the router.
The final e-mail I received from them simply said:
I checked my security settings, and my firewall is turned off. If anyone could offer any advice, it would be awesome. The "Instant Play" version is buggy, and I would rather not have to re-log back in every 5 minutes when it freezes.

"We are sorry to hear that you are having a problem connecting to Ultimate Bet.
The root of this problem could be caused by the use of a firewall or security software blocking our game client from gaining access to the Internet.
Also we would like to suggest you that if you are using wireless connection to connect your computer hardwired to the internet.
Last but not least, let us kindly remind you that you still can try with the Instant Play version."
