Interested in collecting everyones experiences with the functionality of new features in one place that includes all of the important details of their setup so we can figure out what is working on which machines. Maybe there is a pattern. I will post my details and everyone else can follow with theirs in the same way:

iPhone 5 (Verizon) - Clean Install of iOS8
iPad 3 (WIFI) - updated install (not clean install)
Macbook Pro Early 2011 - updated install of Yosemite

SMS across devices: YES no issues (only since clean install on iPhone)
phone calls across devices: NO
airdrop: NO
handoff: NO
iCloud Drive: n/a (havent explored this yet)
Instant Hotspot: NO

To be clear this thread is only for the features that involve interoperability between iOS8 and Yosemite, this is not a thread to post which apps are crashing on your iPhone or how you like or dislike the new OS aesthetics etc. Keep it focused.

iPhone 5s: backup restore
iPad Air: updated
iMac (2008): clean install

SMS across devices: YES
phone calls across devices: NO
airdrop: NO
handoff: NO
iCloud Drive: ??
Instant Hotspot: YES

Interesting.

Since Continuity, especially Handoff, heavily relies on Airdrop, which is currently not supported on iPad 3/iPhone 4s or below, I'm really curious whether those devices would be capable of Continuity?

Not sure they don't support Airdrop because of hardware limit or Apple deliberately cut features to push people buy newer models (let's face it, Apple does that, pretty often).
