Hi,

I have started to make quite a few screencasts for students and need to edit videos in 4K and similar. I have a Macbook pro from 2013 (2.3 i7) with Geforce GT750 2GB. It always take quite a bit of time when I edit and render videos or even record my screen and export to 1080p.

My question is, how much extra speed would I be able to achieve by buying a new Lenovo p50 with the 2GB NVIDIA Quadro M2000M and the i7 or xeon processor? Or is the performance benefits only marginal (e.g. 10-15% faster rendering and exporting times?). I hope some of you might have some insights.

Kind regards,
Michael

What are you using to edit?

If it's accelerates with CUDA then yes it will be substantial if not then it'll just be faster
