These past few months, my ultra 2 has been telling me its battery is low by the end of the day some days. I can't imagine why. It's got a way bigger battery than needed to clear a whole day with plenty to spare. Is there a way I can do some sort of battery usage audit on my watch like I can with my phone to see why it's suddenly getting hungrier?

Go into settings and check to see if any apps on the watch are using Location Services. If some are, decide if you want that behavior to continue. Sometimes, complications on the watch can use extra battery.

OS versions?
Do you use cellular?
Any 3rd party apps installed?
Have you checked background refresh settings?
Live activities in?
Does any app on the phone show increased battery usage that is also installed on the watch?

I have cellular on it but I haven't used it. there are 3rd party apps but none running in the background. I don't understand the live activities question. location services are set to while using for everything except carrot weather which is always but carrot has been on here forever and not been an issue. strangely, the watch will not allow me to make changes to per app location services permissions. they are all greyed out.

give it a reboot mine at times decides to drain more rapidly not to the point of a day though generally i get three days but there are times it is down to two days so i found a simple reboot normally resurrects it back to 3 days. i use carrot , i do daily workouts, i use it has standalone cellular daily for calls and messages. cant help with app diagnostics and live activities can be enabled or disabled in the watch app on iphone

Try performing a factory reset and delete all the apps you don't need on your Apple Watch. More than likely you have some rogue app(s) that are not functioning properly on your Apple Watch.

I had an issue like this on an earlier Apple Watch. It turned out to be a corrupted app (Audible in my case) that was causing the battery drain.

Reboot your iPhone too if you haven’t already. I’ve had a few rare occasions over the years where both devices needed a reboot to stop a battery drain.

Make sure Bluetooth stays ON on your iPhone. Turning Bluetooth off with significantly increase the amount of battery used by the watch. I run into this when turning off Bluetooth to prevent my iPhone from taking over my hearing aids, if I forget to turn it back on (-‸ლ)
