I currently have a Series 6, but I'm going to upgrade to either the UW2 or S9.

I use my current watch a lot in the water - the shower, pool, and beach. I've found that the Apple Watch is pretty unusable in these conditions for the following reasons:

Cellular/Wifi connection - obviously not when underwater, but even when you're close to the waterline (or the watch has just been lifted out of the water) the S6 doesn't have a reliable network connection.

Screen input - when the screen is wet, it's very difficult to use.

Microphone and speaker - speaker is garbled and mic is unreliable when the watch is wet.

It's a long shot, but would be curious if the Ultra hardware offers improvements in any of these areas.

Any touch screen will be more or less unusable when wet so don’t expect improvement from the Ultra.
Ultra has 3 or 4 mics (check the spec page) and dual speaker, so I would expect it to do better, but, again, water is not your friend for those.

You’re aware of screen lock, right? And then unlocking to expel water from the speakers… there’s a reason for that functionality
